Ancient civilization

Ancient Egypt was an ancient civilization of eastern North Africa concentrated along the lower reaches of the Nile, in what is now modern country of Egypt. It was part of a larger complex civilization of the Nile Valley Civilization, with the regions south of Egypt (in today's Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia and Ethiopia) are part of. Egyptian civilization around 3150 BC united with the political unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under the first pharaoh and his development over the next three millennia. His place in the history of stable Kingdoms series, separated by periods of relative stability known as the intermediate periods. Ancient Egypt reached its peak during the New Kingdom, after which began a period of slow decline. Egypt was conquered by successive powers at this late date. The principle of the pharaohs officially ended in 31 BC, when Egypt fell to the Roman Empire and became a Roman province.

The success of ancient Egyptian civilization is partly due to its ability to adapt to the conditions set out in the Nile Valley. Predictable and controlled irrigation, flooding the fertile valley of surplus crops, which are conducive to social development and culture. With resources to spare, the administration sponsored exploitation of minerals of the valley and surrounding desert regions, the early development of an independent writing system, the organization of collective construction and agricultural projects, trade with surrounding regions and the military intended to overcome enemies and strangers say, the Egyptian domination. Motivating and organizing these activities was a bureaucratic elite scribes, religious leaders and administrators under the control of the pharaoh who ensured the cooperation and unity of the Egyptian people in the elaborate system of religious beliefs.

Many achievements of the ancient Egyptians are quarrying, surveying and construction techniques that facilitate the construction of monumental pyramids, temples and obelisks, the system of mathematics, practical and effective system of medicine, irrigation systems and techniques of agricultural production, the first known ships of the Egyptian faience and glass technology, new forms of literature and the oldest known peace treaty.

Egypt left a lasting legacy. His art and architecture were widely copied, and its monuments discharged into the farthest corners of the world. Its monumental ruins have inspired the imagination of travelers and writers for centuries. Newfound respect for monuments and excavations in the early modern period led to the research of Egyptian civilization and a greater appreciation of its cultural heritage, to Egypt and the world.
